Raw materials and equipment required by the South Aluminum Co. (SALCO) are first transported by ship to Parsian wharf facilities covering an area of 8.2 hectares in Parsian Energy Intensive Special Economic Zone.
Alumina powder, coke, bitumen and other raw materials are unloaded from ships to be stored in massive silos especially designed for this purpose, by means of handling equipment such as multiple conveyor belts and pneumatic conveying system. These materials are then transported by truck to South Aluminum Co. (SALCO), 90 km from Parsian City. SALCO’s private wharf facilitates transportation and safe storage of raw materials, and ensures the importation of required machinery and materials, as well as the exportation of products.
The units constructed on this site include:
Two alumina storage silos (35’000 metric tons)
Two liquid bitumen storage silos (3’000 metric tons)
One CPC storage silo (20’000 metric tons)
Two CPC and alumina ship unloaders, and other support units
